Express Cargo Airlines adds another 737 Classic
Express Cargo Airlines has added a second 737-300 freighter after the aircraft left the fleet of fellow Indonesia-based operator RGA-Black Stone Airlines.
The 1997-vintage 737-300F (28200) yesterday flew for the first time under its new registration and livery after it exited service with RGA-Black Stone in June.
Express Cargo Airlines launched in 2023 with one 737-300F. (Courtesy/Express Cargo Airlines)Express Cargo Airlines received its AOC in August 2023 and launched operations with a 1990-vintage 737-300F (24789, ex-Africa Charter Airline). The new carrier told Cargo Facts at the time that it was looking for another 737-300F.
Unit 28200 joined RGA-Black Stone in 2022 after Asia Cargo Network launched the carrier that year.
Indonesia continues to be one of the most active markets for 737 Classic freighters. Startup Airnesia Royal Cargo obtained its AOC this year and has added two 737-300Fs (27362 and 29333), the latter of which was Airfast Indonesia’s only freighter.
BBN Airlines Indonesia this month started flying its first 737-400SF (26302) after it arrived in the country at the end of 2023, while Rimbun Air is still looking to acquire more 737-300Fs even as it eyes expansion with NGs.
The other 737 Classic freighter operators in Indonesia are:
Asia Cargo Airlines;
Jayawijaya Dirgantara;
My Indo Airlines; and
Trigana Air Service.
